Sky & Sable is part of a series of ‘Radiant’ abstract acrylic paintings, started in 2022. This is the largest painting in the series and is an exploration in color and composition where each shape dictates the position of the next. I paint intuitively, where I don’t have a final vision in my head when I start a painting. This was a fun painting to paint, as I don’t use tape or other edging aids in the execution. I feel that warmth is generated in the geometric structure by being freehand, and is a test of skill for me.
