What kind of artist are you?

I’m kind of a hybrid between fine and commercial art. My career has spanned over twenty years creating work for residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces. I have worked with art directors globally and created curated collections for brands all over the world.

In the past few years, I have been creating art that reflects my home base of Richmond and the state of Virginia. It has been very rewarding to create locally grounded work and connect with folks on a one-to-one basis. I love the path I’m on!

Is my art right for you?

I feel my best work is expressive and optimistic. I have a love of celestial motifs and vibrant color, conveying the joy and meaning that comes to me while creating. I also have a healthy sense of the absurd, so humor lives here too. If you like ‘happy’, I think you’ll like me and my work.

I accept commissions!

Are you looking for that perfect piece for a special space? Whether it’s a residential or commercial space, I have over 20 years of experience creating bespoke artwork for something one-of-a-kind or scaling up quantities of work for commercial and hospitality spaces. I also accept wholesale purchases from corporate art consultants and interior designers. Let’s connect!

What is the process for commissioning artwork?

Reach out to me and give me a few details of what you are looking for and what your time frame is. I generally begin by working up 1-3 sketches or concepts for review, along with pricing.

Assuming you approve of one, I provide you with a contract to sign and ask for a 50% deposit of the total upfront as a non-refundable payment.

The next round is spent refining the concept and color story. I allow two more revisions in my original quote. Any more than that may result in a fee revision. (I have never had to do that! I want you to be happy from the jump.)

When I start the project, I send tons of pictures of progress along the way to make sure we stay on track.

When everything is finished and finalized, I then request the rest of the commission payment and ship it off to you or your favorite framer. Need a framer in the Richmond, VA area? I use Gravitas Gallery and can supply you with a very reasonable quote.

Who pays shipping?

Depending on the project, the buyer generally pays shipping, but I am willing to negotiate when the situation arises.

Are you open to being contacted by Galleries, Agents, or Licensing Partners?

Yes! I have a long career in art licensing and work not only in fine art, but also in commercial wall decor and surface pattern design. Let’s connect!

In Richmond, I have a year-round booth at Crossroads Art Center.
