Fan Study is a series of works on handmade paper. Using fabric dye and water on the handmade paper created works with inky depths and a lovely interplay between the paper and dye. Some works have crystals that formed on them when the dye oxidized during the drying process.
The arcs are a motif that runs through my work since I was a young girl. I always loved rainbows and clouds as a kid, and these very different works harken back to that iconic shape to me. They are quiet but powerful works to me, and still reflect the wonder that I have when creating something.
Fabric dye on handmade paper.
Floated on a dark textured mat and custom framed by Gravitas Gallery.
Hangs horizontally.
Ready to hang with a black dust cover and wall-protecting pads at each corner.
