Moon Over the Mountain Diptych is a large-scale, original painting on panel, created using acrylic and graphite. This work is part of a series and was the culmination of a two-woman show in 2024 named 'Reverb' at ArtSpace Gallery in Richmond, VA. In Reverb, I borrowed elements from the work of Katie Shaw, whose chevron pattern is featured here. The heavily textured and distressed surface gives way to a more refined foreground featuring geometric elements married with the chevron pattern. It's a stunner in person, with the velvet finish of the paint drawing in the viewer and engaging with the various elements.
